De’Aaron Fox out 10-14 days in health and safety protocols

By | 63 Comments | Apr 23, 2021

© Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings will be without De’Aaron Fox for 10-14 days due to health and safety protocols, according to Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic.

The Kings haven’t been officially eliminated from the play-in game yet, but were already on the verge. Losing Fox closes any remaining window of opportunity.

Fox was having a great season up to this point, averaging 25.2 points, 7.2 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game.

If Fox misses 14 days, he would miss 8 of the team’s remaining 13 games.

Wow, we are taking tanking very seriously. Can’t wait to see the backstage video of Monte McNair sending someone with Covid Fox’s way.

In all seriousness, I hope he’s OK. And I hope the team gets their vaccinations.

I’d like to hope he is (you can still test positive, though). Frankly, the sports/entertainment industries should have been getting it along with the teacher tier. Get them back to work as safely as possible so the rest of society has stuff to watch as we come out of the bubble.

I think now is the time to let all the young guys play and see what they can do together.

Ty, Metu, Ramsey, Woodard, etc. Throw em in there and let them get some minutes

Coach Walton will give them 4 minutes at the end instead of 2! Don’t worry! Wright will play 40 minutes in the next game.

Start Bagley and bench everybody else because of COVID. Best strategy the Kangz have had in almost two decades. Fight for the lottery and let Bagley try to be the star he clearly is not. No tweets about his teammates and coaches. Only highlight reels on ESPN of Bagley being Bagley.

Maybe Bagley shows he can play more than ten games in a row? That brings more value for him than he has now.

Nice, that should help with some of these softer parts of the schedule over the next couple of weeks. We’re 2.5 games out of the 6th spot. With Bagley coming back and Fox going out, we have a better chance to make up some ground on the Cavs.

Hope Fox stays/gets healthy!

“Turn out the lights, the party’s over.” This is a opportunity for Haliburton to show what he’s got. If Walton doesn’t start him he should be fired during warm-ups. lol

Yes! Perfect. Best player out amd not injured. I’m assuming Fox will be ok.

Lose more. Haliburton gets minutes. Even the absolute idiocy from the Kings can’t stop the fall.

Tank it up. Bottom out so we can start going up.

Damn. Hope it’s nothing serious and he’s fine long term.

Ok now for a total threadjack, I just finished listening to the last TKH podcast and WOOOOOW. I think we all knew Vivek was a disaster but holy crap it’s even worse than I would have guessed. Incredible podcast by everyone involved. That was the best Kings related piece of media I’ve heard/read in a couple years.

Yeah I feel like we probably all sort suspected it but the stories that Jake got for the book are crazy and then Jerry basically confirmed all of it and added even more context. I mean, what a colossal mess. Vivek sounds like he’s got the ego and the total lack of knowledge that is just destroying this franchise from within. And big shock, it sounds like he’s still doing it. You’d think after 8 years he’d have realized that whatever he’s doing doesn’t work but it sounds like he’s oblivious. It sucks too because I’ve heard on a couple different podcasts that people really like Monte McNair and think he could be very good.

I’m just gonna say I really don’t like all the tank talk surrounding Fox getting covid. It seams very untoward knowing the potential long-term side effects. Like people are basically saying €œon the one hand our star player has a virus that could fuck him up, but on the other, him contracting the virus could increase the team’s odds at getting an impact player.€ Like, I get it, but still, it seems in really poor taste.

Celebrating the potential positive draft impact of the star player getting a potentially deadly virus is always wrong.

Im not really reading the reactions as people celebrating the fact that Fox is out, just acknowledging that because he’s out they will most likely lose more games. Those seem like pretty different things to me. I’d prefer Fox just stay home and get healthy for the rest of the year. No sense risking him playing out the string when we’re all but eliminated already. And of course I’m guessing every person here is hoping he has a speedy recovery with no long term I’ll effects.

The last year of being home during the pandemic has brought Mrs. Marty and myself closer together in ways we could never have imagined. Are we allowed to celebrate that, or are we only allowed to talk about how devastating the virus has been?

Vivek will never allow a tank He still thinks a proper deployment of NBA 3.0 will turn this thing around and get us in the Play-in tournament. Then we play 4 on 5 all the way to a championship! Know that when the Kings begin to firesale the roster it’s because he’s decided to sell.
