Welcome back to the second edition of Chainmail! Will and I are here to answer any questions you have pertaining to the Sacramento Kings, including draft questions, trade ideas, cap inquiries, or whatever else is percolating in that sweet, sweet head of yours. If you don't have anything basketball-related to ask, throw some potpourri our way and we'll chat about whatever you would like.
Ask away!
after a couple of weeks running this thing – would you share your first impressions? The website seems to be running stable, most users made the switch from STR apparently. STR is practically dead (I still occasionally lurk there and appreciate their efforts – but it seems that the new team does not have this subtle humor which comes as a coping mechanism after decades of underperformance). Even Mr Ziller graced this website occasionally.
Are you happy with the traffic compared to the old page? Do you think this will have a future? Or are you frustrated that the most commented article was the ESPN re-draft clickbait despite how much work you put into the other content?
Why did Vivek & Co focus on placing robot security guards and robot bartenders in G1C, instead of on this?
Darnit, I just figured out why this section is called “CHAINMAIL”

Question: What sports are possible to play during a pandemic. Off the top of my head, I can think of:
Golf
Tennis
Car Racing
Bowling
Various Individual Olympic competitions
Personally, I’m hoping to see more Marble Racing and hopefully hopefully hopefully The Running Man. Some network needs to take a chance on that one.
Admit it, you’re a Richard Dawson fan. Survey Says ..

Why dont you go back to your podium until its time to play the feud…
Suggestion Box comment: I feel a little strange about the Patreon shields that are affixed to members names when they comment. Anyone else feel this way? To me it comes across a little weird, affixing money contributions or lack of contributions to a public space. But what do I know–I get weirded out by things like Venmo.
Anyway, curious about what others think…
I do love the color blue for my shield, though!
Larry David: ‘I’M ANONYMOUS! I’M ANONYMOUS!!!”
Kosta… I know right .. It shows were are cheap đŸ˜‰
Inside .. I’m actually silver, maybe purple?
Hi-five, my Blues Brother! Blue rules!
Haha, yes. You came right out and stated it. đŸ˜‰
I think they can tell we are sympatico .. the Cat Click .. Now with Blue shields .. Ziller would be proud.
What? Cats got your tongue?
Haven’t seen that RORDOG around these parts in a while!
I’ll return him shortly. I’ve been running experiments.

It is better than stabbing.
Stabbing a fellow A’s fan is no bueno.
getting all these “remember how this time last year you were at the A’s game?” facebook memories is death by a thousand cuts
Might be more simpatico if those who can’t afford to support right now were given a badge too. Maybe a shit-brown color to show our unworthy freeloader status.
Yeah, I hope no one feels awkward for not having a shield. Not everyone can contribute at this time, or even at other times, so I hope there’s no shame in not being able to contribute. đŸ™‚
Yeah, I get that vibe too. Maybe just a simple all encompassing shield that shows you are a supporting/subscribed member, regardless of amount? Let the contributors figure out the swag gifts if need be.
Hey everyone,
We’ve been reading through the comments and we’re working on a palatable solution for everyone in regard to the badges. I hope y’all understand that our intention was always to try and recognize those that have been kind enough to support the site financially, not to make anyone feel excluded or called out. We should have an announcement regarding some changes in the next day or two.
Kosta – thanks for the feedback and please keep it coming. We want to build this site to the be the best out there and that can’t happen without everyone’s input.
Thanks for the response, BabyGiraffe!
Yeah, I hope I didn’t come across as too critical. I think it’s nice to have rewards for supporting members. I just hope no one feels excluded by not having a shield, especially if they are going through some difficult times.
You guys are doing a great job and I am super grateful for everything you guys are doing. đŸ™‚
Great suggestion, Kosta. Hi Five!
There’s a few reasons I’m deciding on whether or not to do this but one is I would like an annual option to pay for a tier. It doesn’t seem like there’s currently an option to do that.
I’d like it if they were smaller, maybe half the size of a profile pic? it’s a nitpick honestly…
I’m afraid to know what’s in some of these creative minds. đŸ™‚
Technically I wish the image sizes could be re-sized smaller. I put up a silly red jersey image and the only thing missing from that centerfold was the staple.
I think someone will come up with a wall poster size image and that will be that?
PS It is not my fault.
Also.. Could something like a purple star be affixed to some conversations and go away based on some cookie aging scheme? .. OK nerd cat ..
Then we could search for purple stars?
I’d also like to see something based on dis-likes. Something like a Pookie dagger… call it the stabbies? First poster size image gets a stabbie, or some such.
Knowing what we know now, with the Covid thing and impending free agency decisions, what do you see happening on draft night?
Do the Kings keep their first rounder, projected at #12 or trade it. What about the three 2nd rounders. If you were betting on it, how many drafted rookies will be in camp?
They’re losing money. I see a glorious return of Cash Considerations.
When this COVID thing ends (whenever that is) and the Kings are playing at G1C in front of fans again, I want some enterprising soul to sneak into the rafters and hang a “retired” Cash Considerations jersey. Ol’ C.C. is the longest-tenured player in franchise history, after all.
If the Kings were to trade Bagley, what do you think they could get for him in terms of straight up value?
Is there a way to be a patron by donating a lump sum vs. the monthly route? I’d like to drop my coin all at once, but didn’t see that option. It’s fine if that isn’t possible or just won’t be an option, but that’d be the way for me if I could.
Thanks and I’m glad things are going so well!
For those of you who are wondering, I have no affiliation with Tom Ziller. Question: Who would let the cat out, Change the Locks & then call Quarantine. I am a uniq individual, go by Tom – like tomcat
I speak only for myself, thank goodness, but I’m kinda disappointed you aren’t Sabrina the Teenage Witch’s cat who can type and come up with all kinds of tomfoolery that essentially equates to much ado about nothing. If I’m being honest, that is.
I can accept that you are a smartass and human, but that’s dime a dozen around here. It’s a lot more fun imagining the former than the latter tbh.
I need a torque adapter that suits my needs. Suggestions?
Please keep your sexual stuff off the site, Nate.
So. Many. Responses.
Also, Dudes.. You are making me read everything on here. I don’t want to miss out on the little mini-hand grenade explosions that happen.. not expected by the topic. Comedy fun! Need that sort for goodness filter. Looking to get my Kings life back.
One thing I didn’t realize is that, though I’ve been a long time reader of Sactown Royalty, no one knows me yet. I’ve been a season ticket holder from the Arco Days in Section 224 from back in 2000 till they left for the new digs. I identify with section 214 in the upper levels. I’ve gotten to know many of the avatars related to that site in reading. Perhaps one can point out the new users as they come on board. Jumping right in was probably novice. I’m good with a welcome new user topic.
Well, section214 and section224 do not subscribe to the pants wearing thing, apparently. I’m enjoying your humorous comments!
Nike seems to struggle capturing the essence of Sacramento. What is your wish for next year’s city uniforms?
