Kings haven’t played defense of late and this has been why they’ve allowed inferior teams to steal wins from them.
They haven’t been taking them seriously and thinking they can close them out in the 4th quarter but you’re not gonna summon a late comeback every night.
Every team in the NBA can score, especially the Kings. Where you create separation from your opponents is by consistently getting stops.
Sadly, it seems this is a personnel and not coaching problem. I’d like to see McNair address that this deadline.
They were about league average at the end of the year, so I’m trying to figure out what happened. All I know is that I’ve already seen this team in years past play zero defense and just try to outscore opponents and.. well I’ve been a pretty sad fan for a while
Yep. Pretty sure they are bottom 2 or bottom 3 in defensive efficiency these last 10 games. THey had a stretch where they were trending up for a bit but it’s since bottomed out again
Yeah they were 14th for the month of December. The defense bottomed out during the second half of the month and into January because they’re 26th in their last 12 games

And suddenly, with Okpala and Davion on the floor, the Kings are playing good defense.
Okpala has done a great job setting defensive tone in short spurts but he’s just not a viable player to get heavy minutes.
We need a trade for a guy that can play defense at his level while also contributing on the offensive end (one of the Raptors forwards please and thank you, Monte).
Now need to get 3 more on Bryant so keep going in there.

Refs tend to swallow their whistle on those end of game possessions when it comes to minimal contact, so yeah, that Fox foul was some BS. Still shouldn’t have come down to that if the Kings could simply put in any stretch of good defensive play that game. They scored 134 points on their home floor and still lost to a shorthanded, sub .500 Lakers team on the backend of a B2B.
