The Sacramento Kings host the Los Angeles Lakers tonight to conclude their preseason. One team is a juggernaut, the other is desperately trying to end an embarrassing drought. We’ll be rooting for the juggernaut, your undefeated Sacramento Kings. The Lakers are a pathetic 0-5 in preseason, and are probably desperate to break this streak.
The game will air locally on NBC Sports California and nationally on NBATV. Tip off is at 7 PM PT.
The Kings will be at full strength with one exception. After we were told that Bagley’s sore knee was better and that he would be available tonight, the Kings have now downgraded Bagley to doubtful for tonight’s contest.
The Lakers will be without Trevor Ariza, Wayne Elllington, Talen Horton-Tucker, Malik Monk, and Kenrick Nunn.
This thread will also serve as the game thread for tonight’s action.
Go Kings!
I hope Buddy hits like, twenty-five threes, so I can scream at the television, “WHERE’S YOUR KYLY KUZMA, NOW, SEEEEEE?”
Beat LA… I’m looking at you too, Giants!
Fingers crossed!
GIANTS-KINGS tagteam!

Is Bagley really, actually injured again? I figured they were holding him out for a last minute trade. Yeesh. I’ll keep hoping.
LOL, yes he’s injured. Undisclosed knee soreness has kept him out of the last two games, but for some reason he can practice.
I really don’t see Bagley playing a full season without missing a good chunk of games anytime soon.
Is the sky blue again? Did the sun set in the west again?
Hes a dead player now
Is anyone hoping he will still be good?
We are a year past potential.
Hopefully he doesn’t play when he is healthy
Pretty sure he has killed any trade possibilities by sitting out pre season games with an injury.
Five games and they still haven’t won;
Old Man L***rs have not got it done!
They need outside shooting.
Of that, no disputing—
Meanwhile Buddy is still our long gun!
Obligatory Fuck the Lakers.
That’s all I got.
Stakes are high enough playing the Lakers, trying to stay undefeated, keeping them fully defeated, and trying to get into regular season form that I feel this is unofficially the first game of the season for the Kings and I’m excited to tune in tonight!
Fox is continuing to look bad
I totally forgot about Bagley for a moment. That’s how good he is. Poor man’s Enes Kanter!
Offensive foul on Melo. He jumped into DM.
Why is Buddy bringing it up court so much? Please let Davion run it.
I just logged on to as that very same question. I saw Mitchell get the ball in the backcourt then defer to Buddy. WTF!!??
Offensive foul on LBJ.
Haliburton turning it over three times in 45 secs
All he does is look to pass to, please look to attack as well
4 times in a row for haliburton
Lakers first unit are steamrolling us
Same old BS. Kings get called for lots of little touches.
Dwight Howard’s a clown
HOLMES
Not sure Hali is ready to be a starter. I like Fox, TD, Barnes, Simmons, Holmes. Buddy 6 man. Would compete w anyone. Unfortunately probably not enough salary filler available to make that happen.
Bagley impressive as bench back slapper. He finally found a role.
Walton should be taking full advantage of Bagley’s capabilities and give some towels and water cups to hand out.
Westbrook is still two levels above Fox at age 32. How is that possible?
Enough time goes by and I forget what a truly horrendous defender Buddy is
Nice drive by Hield!
TT taking too many shots.
If we’re going to be a decent defensive team, it will really require keeping opponents off the boards. Rebounding will be key.
Rondo duping and then beating Mitchell, but Davion comes back and strips him at the basket for the turnover
Uh, are Mitchell and Davis going to be better than Fox and Hali this year?
Fox/Haliburton have looked scary.
Keep feeding Tristan. That’s a playoff strategy
Kings have damn talented guards, one good forward and an undersized center with heart. Is that enough? Doubtful.
Katie’s commentary hurts my ears. Maybe stop trying to compare your WNBA career to the NBA? Also, using the phrase “ young fellas” sounds a lot like Mark Jones lame retoric.
This is an extremely stressful night
Rondo got the ball, turned, saw DM, and traveled….love it!
As I said last game, Fox has to be kidding me with his shooting
He shot better than Anthony Davis!
8/21 isn’t absolutely terrible.
Fox shot 33% from field, 15% from 3 and 62% from line last preseason. Seemed like he had an alright season…all those numbers are better this preseason.
It’s preseason…I’m not going to worry about a guy that has showed it for 2-3 full regular seasons as being a very talented player.
Bagley needs to help himself to help this team and help his career.
Is he really dumb enough that in a contract year, with his notorious shit reputation, to sit out pre season games because he is injured?
If he really wants to be traded or have a somewhat decent contract offer in free agency he is better off saying rest or DNP coaches decision.
Why are the Kings dumb enough to list him as injured when they are trying to trade him?
I hope Bagley grows up and takes responsibility for himself at some point.
You are correct Karen!
Karen, Susan, Allyssa, Katie, whatever……..
Marvin < Dog Turd
Why is a Travelin’ Queen playing against the Kings in crunch time?
is this trolling?
Pre season champs! Here we come regular season! 82-0
Mitchell +22
Hali -26
Buddy MVP Hield +30 ?
He actually played within himself and looked great tonight. Wish he would always do that. Zero TOs!
Yeah, agreed. I liked his drive to the basket on that one play.
Noooooooooo, the Giants lost to LA. 🙁
McNair’s fault!
Man that was one hell of a preseason game, hope TD can continue to shoot at that clip.
Lakers have a loaded roster for sure but it’ll be interesting to see if they’re able to play at full strength by the time the postseason comes around. Consistency is key for us. Kings are always locked in against teams in the top of the standings, but then play at half speed against lower competition.
