Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton said the team is “optimistic” about the extent of Tyrese Haliburton’s left knee injury during a media session on Tuesday afternoon.
“We’re very optimistic still with Tyrese and we’re working with multiple professionals as far as getting all the opinions together and we have a whole group of our medical staff just making sure that all the information that is given out is correct. But we are optimistic and when they get that information they will share it with you guys. He clearly will not play tonight.”
He was asked when we’ll expect to hear an update on Haliburton.
“Soon. They’re working on it so it’s not like we’re not trying to get the information out there, we’re not hiding anything. But whenever that information all comes in … that information will be sent to you.”
Walton reiterated that the team is “optimistic” when asked if tears or structural damage has been ruled out.
Haliburton injured his knee in the third quarter of Sunday’s matchup with the Dallas Mavericks on.
Harrison Barnes and Chimezie Metu will also not play tonight. Walton did not provide an update on the status of De’Aaron Fox.
We’ll keep you updated on Haliburton’s status as more information becomes available.
Good news. Between Tyrese able to put his weight on that leg walking to the tunnel to the now multiple optimistic possible interpretations I’m guessing there is nothing too career altering but we will see
I think he’s fine as well. Rest up and come back next year.
Good to hear, Walton’s record on knowing things is rock solid.
Haha…no kidding. I didn’t think too much of the injury on the first night but too much Kangz in my blood…this is starting to feel very doomsday scenario being stretched out this long.
The status report is on its way!

Classic.

Good ol’ Kaiser….
While I hope for the best, the fact that they’re keeping a tight wrap (minus the platitudes) on a knee injury to arguably the best young prospect of the Sacramento era makes me think this is going to be a Bernard King situation.
