This isn’t a surprise, as Parker has been glued to the bench lately except for in emergencies. The Kings presumably kept Parker this long just in case his contract was useful in trades for matching purposes.
James Ham also indicated the Kings are done making trades today. If this is the case, the Kings will need to cut or buyout one more player. The Kings acquired a total of four players today, while only sending out two.
Hearing the Kings are done with trades for today, but still need to release one more player to make all of their transactions work.

We will continue to update as we know more.
Also, once the dust settles we will have more detailed analysis of today’s moves.
Bye Jabari.
“Detailed analysis of today’s move” = “A novel-length stream of profanity, spittle, and rage-smashing the keyboard.” And it will be entirely appropriate.
Clever Banner former #2 Pick out of Duke ..
Just toying with us.
It took me about 10 min to figure out they were talking about Jabari. Nice troll. I went straight to double check Woj’s Twitter when I saw it ð
One could also say evil banner for playing with our hopes! But as far as that goes. Marvin goes down. Team is now 4-1. Can’t get away from the facts. Team is better without him. Surprise the defense is better as of late….pretty much aligns with Marv’s injury.
This was bad
Didn’t get fleeced, and we still have our best tradable assets available for summer moves.
Boston got appreciably worse, and Danny Ainge can jump up and kiss my entire ass. If you prefer having Fournier and Mo Farking Wagner than Barnes, you may not be the shrewd master negotiator that you claim to be.
We didn’t end up with Aaron Gordon, Allah be praised.
Alternative take: Did nothing of consequence to improve a bad team with two players who might make a difference in the next playoff run.
I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to signing some middling (but young!) vets for the bench in the offseason, because next year is our year!
It is interesting that McNair decided to not make a bold move to win now, or grab win later assets. I think I probably have more confidence that the “thread the needle strategy” can work, but it’s obviously a risky play.
I was always suspicious of the Boston trade rumors. The next time that Ainge pulls off a fair trade will be the first time.
So what are the odds of Jabari being picked up by someone for the vet’s minimum?
I feel we are on the same page about this, you as extremely disappointed as I am?
Austin might have a need if we bring Woodard back after he’s healed.
Hey Woodard played the other day!
That’s good news.
The end of an error.
Can we release Vivek and Luke now please?
What a colossal waste of time and money by the Kings.
Vlade signs Dedmon to pricy contract, Dedmon then stinks it up. Vlade then trades Dedmon and 2 second round picks for Len and Parker. Len walks and a year later Parker is waived.
And some folks wonder why many of us here are so pessimistic.
Vlade is the gift that keeps on shitting.
Well, there it is.
That’s the most sensible course of action.
Jabari Parker was on our team?
Are we allowed to melt down yet?
Of course not. Because next year Monte will show us his magic. Really. Trust me. I’m a developer. Bap bap bap.
The trade deadline was another failure for the Kings. Only a trade involving Barnes for young talent and/or a first round pick would have changed that. I am no salary cap wonk – are we in any better position to re-sign Holmes after today or does our position in that regard remain unchanged?
Yeah! And why are we still dealing with this pandemic! It’s been two months already!
Inheriting a garbage fire generally doesn’t provide a lot of room to improve things in one fell swoop.
one fell swoop. Or virtually nothing. There’s a lot of room between the two.
I legitimately do not understand this response.
Dude..
