The Kings final Summer League game is here as they take on the Charlotte Hornets at 3:30 PM Pacific Time on Amazon Prime and NBC Sports California. However we won’t be seeing Darius Acuff Jr., Nique Clifford, Maxime Raynaud or Dylan Cardwell as the Kings have shut them down.
We’ll see if Alex Karaban can follow up his 21 point game with another nice performance, and if Emanuel Sharp can keep his solid two-way performance going.
Let’s get our record back from Atlanta and score 0 points in a quarter.

To be fair, I think it is due to injury concerns…the fans have been hurt enough already.

My haute take is that Sharp will be a bigger consensus fan favorite than Acuff this year.
Honestly Sharp seems like the better player so far.
Sharp is either the new Bobby Jackson, or the new Devin Carter, largely depending on whether he can shoot the ball consistently.
Guessing he’s more DC. There’s a reason Sharp was drafted in the 2nd round, it’s because he is very unlikely to possess the athleticism and speed to hang with NBA players, nor is his lack of size going to help.
The Kings under multiple GMs just love selecting unathletic, undersized players,,,and I’ll never understand it.
Of course playing to the audience again. I’ll give you this, you have a way of knowing what people want to hear. Good for you but not very compelling. Heretofore, Sharp is nowhere near the player Acuff is and will be. It’s not to say I don’t appreciate his effort and energy on the court but my god the things people create in their minds from a very small sample set fails the test of reasonable analysis.

Bobby Jackson was (arguably) not better than Mike Bibby, but he was a MUCH bigger fan favorite, because the guy played hard every minute on the floor. Not that Bibby didn’t play hard, but Bobby stood out for how he played. Sharp may be a similar type of player, and Kings fans historically LOVE those guys (see: Bobby Jackson, Jon Barry, Scot Pollard).

I will add the fan favorite will be the more impactful player. Given their college careers and draft positions and just watching their skill sets, I’ll ride with Acuff.

Declaring the crazy things people create in their mind on a small sample size while in the same breath declaring Acuff is and will be the better player is truly remarkable.

OK on point guard but if Sabonis stays we are good at center. What I would like to see is a Monk and a future first for the Pacers Jarance Walker and Ben Sheppard. Walker is a perfect fit at power forward. Has all the tools you would want. That brings Murray to the small forward spot where IMO he belongs.Walker is good for one year on his contract until next year where the Kings will have more than enough to restructure his contract. Sheppard is also on a one year contract and can either be traded or move him for more money. Either way IMO Pacers really want a player like Monk. With the trade the Kings would also get money. The future first IMO is well worth it to get a 23 year old power forward that fits perfectly in the Kings rebuild.

I am enjoying the continued Karaban-asassaince. 35pts in two games against stiff competition. Or competition that is stiffs.
I think he has a chance to be this generations Mike O’Koren.

Sharp has already shown he will be better than Devin Carter. Better shooter, better ball handler and probably better defender. But Carter had a big wingspan! My word, the Kings can be stupid.
