Results for the 2017 Players Voice Awards were announced, and both Vince Carter and Garrett Temple received recognition. Temple was recognized by his Sacramento Kings teammates, earning the Kings Teammate of the Year Award. Temple won the same award the previous season with the Washington Wizards.

Vince Carter was voted as the NBA’s Most Influential Veteran in league-wide voting. We knew Carter would be a veteran leader on the Kings, but even I didn’t realize he was held in such high esteem. Not only is it great that he’ll be working with Sacramento’s young guys, but it sounds like his experiences could go a long way towards changing player perception of Sacramento and the Kings organization (assuming things go well this year).

One award that I’d like to see the Kings earn in the coming years is the Best Home Court Advantage award. This year is went to the Golden State Warriors.

Congratulations to Garrett Temple and Vince Carter!
