Kings guard Ty Lawson was due in court today for a probation hearing stemming from his 2015 arrest in Denver for a DUI. According to the Denver Post, Lawson had tested positive for alcohol three separate times since then and also failed to complete the community service portion of his probation.

At today’s hearing, Lawson pleaded not guilty to violating his probation. As a result, a probation revocation hearing has been set for May 4th, 2017 at which point the judge will decide whether Lawson has violated his probation or not. If Lawson is found to have been in violation of his probation, he could be subject to jail time.

Jesse Paul, a reporter for the Denver Post, was at the courtroom today and got the following information from Lawson’s attorney:

The Kings have yet to make any official statements regarding reports of Lawson’s probation violation and simply labeled him as a “DNP – Rest” for yesterday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Lawson is on a one-year contract with the Kings that expires at the end of this season. Sacramento has just 11 games remaining.
