New Sacramento Kings head coach Luke Walton is being sued for sexual assault, according to a report from TMZ. Per TMZ, who obtained copies of the suit, Walton allegedly forced himself upon a female sports reporter in a hotel room. The suit alleges that the incident occurred before Walton was head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

It’s unclear whether the Kings (or Walton, for that matter) knew about the lawsuit when they hired him a week ago. TMZ reached out to Walton’s camp but has not heard back as of yet.

The Sacramento Kings released the following statement:

This is obviously a sensitive subject, and we will be monitoring the comments section closely. Disparaging of the alleged victim will not be tolerated. Consider this a pre-emptive warning for everyone.
