Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times tweeted the following contract tidbits yesterday regarding the Sacramento Kings:
Stockton's contract doesn't become guaranteed until January 10th, meaning the Kings can cut him at any time before that date and not owe him the rest of the money on his contract. Moreland's guarantee date however is just around the corner on August 1st. That doesn't necessarily mean much; The Kings and Moreland can extend that date forward (like say, through camp) if they both agree to it, and since Vlade has said he expects to see Moreland in camp, I could see that scenario happening. However if nothing is agreed to, the Kings could make the hard choice of cutting Moreland sometime in the next week to avoid eating about $800k in salary if they decide to cut Moreland at a later date.
In the end we're talking about a spot on the end of the Kings bench, and an almost certain D-League stint. It's not huge in the grand scheme of things, but it's still interesting to see who might make the final roster of this vastly different Sacramento Kings team.
