In the culture of the Sacramento Kings there a few standards Kings fans expect the team and the players to uphold. Some players get it and fit in and are beloved for it. Isaiah Thomas attended city council meetings in support of Kings fans and keeping the Kings in Sacramento. Others like James Johnson wear Sonics hats in the Sacramento locker room and will forever be despised. These actions are just as inportant, dare I say more important, than on-court play. And in this regard, Harry Giles took a major step forward in his Kings career.

Mr. Rivas clarified that he was wearing a Lakers shirt, had been a fan of Giles before he entered the NBA, and asked for a photo. Because of the shirt, Harry said no.

The word hero gets thrown around a lot these days, but I feel it’s warranted here. Just imagine if Harry is half as great on the court as he is off of it.
