The Great Jersey Tourney: Sweet Sixteen

Old school style dominated the first round
By | 0 Comments | Aug 5, 2018

The first round was a complete slaughter of the newer designs. Only 4 jerseys released since 2002 remain in the bracket. The oldest jersey to be eliminated was the gold and silver eye sore from 2005. Good riddance.

Meanwhile, both “city” jerseys managed to advance. And the new baby blues edged out the “global” chainmail look by the closest margin of the competition so far.

Black has been the most popular jersey color, led by overwhelming favor for their first appearance in 1994. But nostalgia may be playing a part there, as all the looks from the mid to late 90’s advanced.

The bracket is heating up now, and some great jerseys will have to go. But will old school style continue to dominate? You decide!
