Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged in Sacramento Kings fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.
According to the most recent SB Nation Reacts survey, 30 percent of Kings fans are confident the team is headed in the right direction. That’s down from 33 percent the previous week and 60 percent last month.
The Kings will need to decide what they are as a team this season and if they should make a playoff push or continue a rebuild with moves at the trade deadline. A majority of Kings fans hope the team is a seller at the deadline, given that Sacramento is 3.5 games of the 10-seed right now.
When asked where, specifically, the Kings need to improve, 60 percent of fans hope the team adds a defensive specialist. 20 percent of fans would like to see a wing join the team, while 16 percent would like a big or a shooter. Currently, Sacrament ranks 29th in the league in opponent points per game and a distant 30th in defensive rating, so a player who can shore up that end of the floor is a must.
The Kings have players that they should be able to trade for future pieces. A clear majority of fans, 80 percent, believe Nemanja Bjelica will be traded. The rest of fans are split between Harrison Barnes and Hassan Whiteside.
However, only 20 percent of fans say they hope Bjelica is the player moved, while 40 percent would rather see Cory Joseph traded and 30 percent would like the Kings to trade Whiteside. Personally, I think Whiteside is the most expendable in order to give Chimezie Metu, Marvin Bagley III, and now Mfiondu Kabengele more time at center.
