The Sacramento Kings have waived Glenn Robinson III, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN on Wednesday, and confirmed by the team. Robinson signed a one-year, veteran’s minimum contract with the Kings in November. His deal was not fully guaranteed until Feb. 27, thus the timing of the decision.

Robinson was widely viewed as a sneaky-good pickup for the Kings when they signed him in free agency, especially with their lack of depth was at the small forward position, but the 27-year-old swingman was never able to carve out a role in Luke Walton’s rotation. In the last three games, Robinson has been away from the team.

Through 23 games with the Kings, Robinson averaged 5.3 points on 42.4% shooting from the field and 36.4% shooting from behind the arc while averaging 16 minutes per game. He also averaged two rebounds per game.

The Kings’ roster now stands at 14 players, not including their pair of two-way players, Chimezie Metu and Kyle Guy.
