Why: Because in the olden days NBA players didn’t make much money so they spent their offseasons working odd jobs or repaving their mom’s driveway and they needed a few games before the season started to get back into playing shape and despite advancements in training and player readiness we’re mired in tradition so we do 5-8 of these things before the season actually begins.
