Technically the Sacramento Kings still have a chance to make the playoffs. As painful as the past few losses have been, the Kings are still the 9th seed in the West. They’re a full five games back of the Los Angeles Clippers, with just 15 games remaining. It’s a daunting and frankly unrealistic task to make the 8th seed at this point. Instead, the Kings will play for pride.
Despite the letdown of missing the playoffs, nobody is really disappointed with the season as a whole. Personally, I think it would be awesome to win 40 games. Better still if the Kings could finish .500 or better.
Play for pride, young men. Not that anyone has to tell De’Aaron Fox.

For Your Consideration
Back to backs are never easy, but this one is brutal. The Kings go from the Celtics (5th seed in the East) to the Philadelphia 76ers (4th seed in the East). The Sixers are 27-9 at home this season, while the Kings are 13-20 on the road. The Kings have also struggled on back-to-backs all season. Thanks for giving us 15 of them, NBA! Willie Cauley-Stein has been really good against Joel Embiid in previous matchups this season, but he’s also been really bad on SEGABABAs this season. Which Willie will show up?
The Kings face a tough challenge tonight. How they show up will tell us a lot about how the remainder of the season will go. I’m optimistic. I expect a good fight and a good performance from some key players.
Prediction
Kings 109, Sixers 102
