The Sacramento Kings enter Monday’s game as losers of 3 straight games, and 4 of their last 5. The team has four win and seven losses in the month of December. After a promising November, frustrations are growing. After the pleasant surprise of last season, hopes were high that the Kings could be a competent, normal, semi-successful NBA team this season. Instead, whatever steps forward from last year have been met with steps backward.
It’s only December, and a couple wins could easily shift the fan sentiment again, but I’m struggling to remember the last time the fan base felt this apathetic toward the team. This includes myself, so please don’t take this as throwing stones at anyone. But the Kings have offseason acquisitions who are underwhelming and underperforming (excluding Richaun Holmes, who remains a delight), and our future hinges on young players who have thus far failed to meet expectations for the year.
Thoroughly depressed yet? Let’s talk Kings basketball.

For Your Consideration
The Houston Rockets come to Sacramento hoping to avenge their December 9th loss. Since losing to the Kings, the Rockets have won five of six, with their only loss coming against the Detroit Pistons. The Rockets are beatable, but are good enough that they should beat the Kings. Because of that, and because nothing ever happens as planned for the Kings, the Rockets will likely lose in convincing fashion.
Sorry if these previews have been a little light lately. We had some wind taken out of our sails. We’re still trying to take care of you all from a content standpoint, but we appreciate it if you understand that things like previews and recaps may not have the same level of depth that you’ve grown accustomed to.
Final prediction: Kings 107, Rockets 99
