NBA will not vote on Kings this week

The fate of the Kings will not be decided this week, as the NBA confirmed to The Bee's Dale Kasler that there will be no vote at this week's Board of Governors meeting.

This is a big disappointment for fans in both Sacramento and Seattle, as most fans are simply ready for there to be some sort of resolution to this saga. While this delay can be interpreted a number of different ways, the only thing that is clear is that the bids of both cities are close enough in terms of money and other factors that the league anticipates that the owners will not have an easy time reaching a conclusion. You may now begin your rampant speculation.

In other Kings news, Mayor Kevin Johnson announced at a press conference at the Downtown Plaza this afternoon that a written bid will be submitted to the NBA on Wednesday. However, he also indicated that the bid would not be matching Hansen's increased bid from this Friday. The Sacramento group must be confident that the difference will not be a deciding factor, but we'll have to wait and see how this plays out.

One thing is for sure, it looks like we'll be forced to wait a little longer.
