On Monday morning, the Sacramento Kings announced “In This Together,” an initiative with the goal of supporting the local community through the COVID-19, or coronavirus, pandemic through “online activations, health awareness, physical and educational activities, business support and more.” The Kings’ most recent effort is part of the NBA’s “NBA Together” campaign, which was launched on March 20.
The Kings announced the campaign with a video narrated by Gary Gerould, the team’s radio voice. The video calls on Kings fans to stay resilient — something they’ve shown they can do since the team moved to Sacramento in 1985.
The Kings aren’t just asking, though — they’re giving, too.
In addition to the thousands of pounds of food they donated to the Sacramento Food Bank and Sacramento County Office of Education, the Kings will be hosting a blood-drive with Budweiser and Red Cross.
