Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nemanja Bjelica partnered with the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation to donate medical supplies to Serbia, including ventilators and medical-grade masks.
Per the team’s release, both Bogdanovic and Bjelica spoke of the heroism of the medical workers in Serbia who are risking their own well-being to provide assistance to those affected by COVID-19.
In a separate interview with The Athletic, Bogdanovic said that just as he is observing the lead of others around the NBA in giving back, he hopes to set an example for others to continue to help.
This donation follows several other efforts by the Kings to address the coronavirus pandemic within Sacramento, including giving food to the Sacramento County Office of Education and Sacramento Food Bankusing Sleep Train Arena as a field hospital.
Bogdanovic confirmed to The Athletic that he and his family are safe and healthy. He has a “mini-gym” in his garage, but has mostly enjoyed his free time to connect with his loved ones, especially those who live in Serbia.
Most of the time during the NBA season, Bogdanovic is unable to check in with his family in Europe because of the time difference. Now, not only can he talk with them, but he also has an opportunity to effect change with his philanthropy. Kudos to him and Bjelica.
