The Kings have seen several of the players they’ve already met with sign with other teams already as they opt to be patient with their cap space. They haven’t been willing to overspend on vets just yet, a good sign for the team going forward.
One player they might be willing to throw a ton of money at though is restricted free agent Otto Porter though.
The Kings will meet with restricted free agent Otto Porter today, I'm told. Wizards expected to match all offers, & he's in pursuit of max.

Porter’s the former #3 pick in the draft and a big three-and-D wing that showed a lot of improvement last year for Washington. He shot over 51% from the field and 43% from three while also being able to guard multiple positions. It’s no wonder why he’d be seeking a max deal or why Washington would like to keep him.
If the Kings do offer Porter a max deal, Washington would have two days after the moratorium is lifted on July 6th to match the contract. That contract would likely be for four years and about $106 million. During that two days Sacramento will have a cap hold for that offer sheet on their books, but the Kings have so much cap space it’s not likely to affect them like it would other teams.
I’m not going to get too excited for the possibility of Porter joining the Kings just yet. Every indication is that Washington will simply wait until he gets an offer and match it, which is the smart thing to do when it comes to restricted free agency. The Wizards can’t afford to let a talent like Porter go away for nothing, so if the Kings really are interested, they might have to work a sign-and-trade of some sort in order to actually bring Porter over.
