The Kings have a gaping hole at Small Forward and they know it. With free agency set to begin in just a few hours, the Kings are seemingly making Small Forward their priority with multiple reports indicating that the first meetings they’ll be taking are with Golden State’s Andre Iguodala and their own Rudy Gay.
Add another suitor for Andre Iguodala. Sources tell @ChrisBHaynes and I he's meeting with the Sacramento Kings tonight as well

Hearing Andre Iguodala and Rudy Gay among the first meetings for Sacramento Kings free agency. Kings taking hard look at everyone

This is not the first time the Kings have courted Iguodala, but now they can offer him more money than anyone else. Iguodala is coming off a very successful stint with the Warriors during which he won two NBA Championships and an NBA Finals MVP award. While he’s come off the bench for the Warriors the last few years, he would start for the Kings and be a great mentor for the young players. Iguodala won’t get to enjoy the same amount of success in Sacramento as he would by re-upping with Golden State or going to San Antonio (another team he will meet with), but he could get a very handsome payday.
As for Gay, the Kings publicly expressed interest in bringing him back earlier this offseason before he officially opted out. Unlike Iguodala, Gay hasn’t gotten to taste success yet and it seems unlikely he’d want to stick around a rebuilding situation. There’s also the unknown factor of how he bounces back after tearing his Achilles tendon earlier this season.
Iguodala and Gay aren’t the only Small Forwards the Kings have been connected to; Danilo Gallinari and P.J. Tucker have been connected to the Kings in rumors today. With a market that’s very thing on quality Small Forwards, there’s bound to be plenty of competition for their services.
