The Kings are finally bringing in some big names for an NBA Draft workout. Last year the biggest name that came was Wade Baldwin, and he ended up getting drafted 17th by the Grizzlies.
Sacramento’s first of two workouts tomorrow is headlined by UNC’s Justin Jackson. Jackson is fresh off two straight NCAA title runs including one victory this past April. Jackson is projected to be taken in the lottery and is the highest ranked upperclassman in DraftExpress’ database.
Joining Jackson in Sacramento’s first workout group will be Oregon’s Jordan Bell, Florida’s Devin Robinson, Utah’s Kyle Kuzma, Kansas’ Frank Mason, and Virginia’s London Perrantes. Bell, Robinson, Kuzma and Mason are all projected to go somewhere in the second round and could be in play for Sacramento at the 34th pick.
The second workout of the day won’t be as high profile. Moses Kingsley, Luke Petrasek, Jordan Washington, Seth Allen, Tyler Cavanaugh, and James Blackmon will all get the chance to showcase their talents in front of Kings brass. Only Blackmon is ranked as a top-100 prospect by DraftExpress.
With the draft still a few weeks away, it’s nice to see the Kings getting some big names into town relatively early in the workout process. Hopefully we’ll see more as we get closer.
