Collins was one of the most efficient scorers in the nation last year.

The draft might be Thursday but the Kings aren’t done doing research just yet. They announced yesterday another workout to be held today featuring Wake Forest’s John Collins in a group workout. Collins had the highest PER in college basketball last season thanks to his fantastic rebounding and ultra efficient and high volume scoring.

In Chad Ford’s latest mock draft, he lists Collins as a “dark-horse” pick for the Kings at 10 along with Harry Giles, another player the Kings have worked out. The Kings already have several young big men, but Collins is far different from any of them in that he’s very offense oriented and excels with the ball in his hands, but does need to work on his defense.

Joining Collins at today’s workout will be Duke’s Matt Jones (DX Unranked), Gonzaga’s Przemek Karnowski (DX Rank #97), Baylor’s Jonathan Motley (DX Rank #39), Weber State’s Jeremy Senglin (DX Unranked), and South Carolina’s Sindarius Thornwell (DX Rank #57).
