Following yesterday's news that the Kings would be adding Nancy Lieberman to the coaching staff, the Sacramento Kings sent out a press release announcing all the new hires to the bench.
Joining Lieberman are Chad Iske, John Welch and Anthony Carter. Iske has been given the title of associate head coach, effectively making him Karl's #2. Corliss Williamson and Vance Walberg remain the lone holdovers from last year's staff, with Williamson being the only person to stay on from Mike Malone's staff. Walberg was brought on soon after George Karl was hired.
Most of these hires were already known, but Anthony Carter is a new addition. Carter played in the NBA for 14 seasons, including playing under George Karl in Denver. He spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach of the Austin Toros, the San Antonio Spurs' D-League affiliate.
Sacramento's new coaching staff will now be tasked with harnessing the talent and egos and trying to bring this franchise out of the cellar. It's not an easy job but this bench certainly has the knowledge and experience to see it through.
