Kings end winning streak with loss to Spurs

The Kings fought hard but came up just short.

As the saying goes, “all good things come to an end,” and a four-game winning streak without De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and Harrison Barnes was about as good as the Sacramento Kings could ask for. Unfortunately, that winning streak came to an end on Friday, as Sacramento lost the San Antonio Spurs 113-104 at the Golden 1 Center.

The Kings fought as hard as they possibly could leading up to the final whistle, but Friday night was an example of how much they missed De’Aaron Fox. When they were in desperate need of a basket, there wasn’t anyone they could turn to; not even Terence Davis, who led the Kings with 22 points off of the bench.

With a loss to the Spurs, the Kings are 3.5 games back of the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference with five games left on their regular season schedule. So, while they’re still technically in the hunt for that final play-in spot, they need to be nearly perfect from here on out and that might be hard to do without Fox, Haliburton and Barnes.
