Almost three weeks ago, on March 11, the Sacramento Kings took the court for their second and final matchup of the season with New Orleans Pelicans when they were informed that the game was cancelled because one of the referees, Courtney Kirkland, worked a Utah Jazz game earlier in the week. That was an issue because, less than half an hour before the game was set to tip off, a player from the Jazz, Rudy Gobert, tested positive for COVID-19 —more commonly known as the coronavirus.

The Kings, Pelicans, nor any of the 28 other teams have played a game since then, and Harrison Barnes gave his account of the events that followed that game on “Inside the Green Room.” Chief among the tidbits he provided was that the Kings haven’t been tested for the coronavirus yet:

So far, eight NBA teams have organized tests for their players, with the majority of them getting their testing done through private labs. The Kings will likely go the same route if they plan on doing a team-wide test, however, it might be a little harder for them to do that now that there’s a state-wide restriction on gathering of 10 or more people in the state of California and their team’s facilities have been temporarily closed off.
