The rumors are going to be flying as we lead up to Thursday’s NBA Draft, and the Sacramento Kings will be in the center of it all. With the second overall pick the Kings have kept the whole world guessing, although it seems like they’ve narrowed their selection down to one of Luka Doncic, Michael Porter Jr., or Marvin Bagley III. The Kings were one of many teams that attended an evaluation of Porter in Chicago on Friday. During that meeting the Kings were able to get additional information about Porter’s surgically repaired back. From this morning’s rumblings, it doesn’t sound like he’s be ruled out.
Michael Porter Jr. to Sacramento at No. 2? There are rival teams who believe that the Kings are still strongly weighing it …

The Kings are definitely still weighing it… https://t.co/6zzdPheQQL

I will say this for Sacramento: I’m impressed by how they’ve kept opposing teams in the dark on this. Doesn’t seem like anyone knows for sure which way they’re going to go yet. Need to close it out and take the right guy, but they’re keeping the NBA guessing. https://t.co/hP3d2nR8Hw

Amick and Stein are two of the reporters I trust most with Kings-related news. Both have demonstrated a long history of connections and accurate reporting. The question then becomes whether to take this at face value, or is this another smokescreen?
We’ll know soon, but Thursday feels like it’s going to take a long time to get here.
