The Sacramento Kings announced several promotions and additions within the Basketball Operations department on Tuesday. The most notable additions are to the medical staff, with Teena Murray being named Senior Director of Athlete Health and Performance. It’s a different title, but this seems to be the move to replace Pete Youngman who was let go promoted to some advisory role earlier this summer.
From the Kings:
Not mentioned in this release is the fate of Manny Romero. Dr. Romero has been on the athletic staff since 2001 and held the title of Head Athletic Trainer, a position now apparently held by Joe Resendez. I’m sure it’s nothing to be alarmed about, we’ll probably hear soon that he voluntarily decided to step down to spend more time will family, but will stay on as an advisor.
Update:
Dr. Romero has confirmed he’s no longer with the team and left of his own volition. We wish him all the best.
Thank you for your kind words. God bless you and all @SacramentoKings fans everywhere! #SacramentoProud https://t.co/WSMSKPsiJG
