Every year about this time the Kings begin to schedule draft workouts, and this year is no different, although with the slight wrinkle of not having a General Manager in place yet.
The Kings have announced today that the first workout of the year is scheduled for tomorrow morning, and features French center Rudy Gobert. Gobert is a 7'2 center with a 9'7 inch standing reach. Gobert is projected by many to be an early-to-mid first round pick.
Joining him are:
Will Cherry, 6'1, PG, Montana
Chris Evans 6'8, F, Kent State
Aziz N'Diaye, 7'0, C, Washington
Travis Releford, 6'6, G, Kansas
Brandon Triche, 6'4, G, Syracuse
Aside from Gobert, none of those players are currently projected to be drafted. Still, if Gobert can't make an impact against the likes of N'Diaye or Evans, he probably shouldn't be drafted with the 7th pick.
In other news, the Kings are also set to formally announce Michael Malone as their head coach tomorrow at 1:30 PM, following the draft workout.
