Point guard De’Aaron Fox rebounded from a rough couple of weeks with 27 points, six assists and five rebounds against the Pistons. All of the Kings starters hit double figures on Friday. Center Richaun Holmes was spectacular, finishing the game with 19 points and 17 rebounds.
It will a fascinating matchup between Fox and LaMelo Ball. The rookie is averaging 15 points, 6.1 rebounds 6.1 assists for the Hornets this season. It looks like Charlotte will be without its leading scorer for this one, with Gordon Hayward listed as doubtful.
Sacramento will have to continue to focus on the defensive end. The Kings are giving up 120.1 points per game, the most out of any NBA team. The Hornets rank 21st in the league in points allowed per game.
These are the type of games Sacramento needs to win if it wants to stay in the race for a postseason berth. Even after the nine-game slide, the Kings are only three games out of a play-in spot. Sacramento has played one of the toughest schedules in the league so far, but it gets easier from here.
