The Sacramento Kings have won six of 10 overall and four straight at home heading into Monday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Pacific on Comcast SportsNet California and 1140 AM. It's the first game in a five-game home stand that features some of the best teams in the league (Grizzlies, Heat) and some of the worst (Cavaliers, Wizards).
The Kings have beaten good teams in Sacramento recently, including the Knicks and Celtics. The Grizzlies are a bit different: they are one of the few teams in the league that can match the Kings' size, with Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. DeMarcus Cousins and Jason Thompson, who both had excellent weeks on offense, will be tested in a big way.
But the Kings are getting Tyreke Evans back, which should help shore up the backcourt defense if nothing else. Sacramento might also have Marcus Thornton available; the Kings' bench struggled to shoot well on the road, and though M.T. has been inconsistent this season, he's a better shooting threat most nights than everyone on the bench but Jimmer Fredette. Having better players available is obviously a good thing, provided the fit works out. Much will be made of the Kings' ball movement with those two guards back. I fear much of it will be overwrought.
We'll have fan predictions soon and a game thread at 7.
