Kings vs. Bucks Preview: From Best to Worst

The Kings face a struggling Milwaukee Bucks team, hoping to regroup after a rough night against the league-best San Antonio Spurs.

Coming off a loss to the best team in the NBA, the NBA saw fit to schedule the Kings a makeup game against the worst team in the NBA immediately after, as Sacramento takes on Milwaukee this afternoon (3:00 pm on Comcast SportsNet California and KHTK 1140). Milwaukee has been playing more competitively lately, but it hasn't resulted in many more wins.

MATCHUP OF THE GAME

Kings vs. Themselves

The Kings do this thing where they somehow take terrible opponents for granted. They took care of them easily in Milwaukee, but just because they're a weaker opponent, the Kings still have to come in and play them as if they're good. That's what good teams do. The Kings need to take care of business on the home floor, or risk getting embarrassed and taking a step backwards in their development.

3 THINGS

1. Royce White officially got his first action against the Spurs, but that was just 56 seconds of garbage time in which he didn't actually get any run. I have a feeling that Coach Malone will give him more meaningful minutes tonight against this Bucks team, especially with Quincy Acy hurting and unavailable. White's passing could be a real positive with the rest of the bench group so I'll be interested to see how the Kings use him if he does play meaningful minutes.

2. I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but the Kings still haven't been doing a very good job of figuring out how to take care of the ball. Isaiah, DeMarcus and Rudy take most of the blame because they spend the most time with the ball, but constantly making a bad pass rather than the smart one has been our bane all season. I don't think I've ever seen a team that is worse at running a simple 3 on 1 fastbreak than this Sacramento Kings squad.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo didn't play much in the last matchup due to foul trouble. I hope he manages to stay out of it tonight so that we can see a little bit more of him. The little I did see in the last matchup was fun. Few guys his size can handle or move with the ball as well as he can. If he can figure out how to hit the outside shot on a consistent basis, he'll be a fantastic player in this league.

PRE-GAME HAIKU

PREDICTION

Kings 111, Bucks 86 as Royce White puts up a 20-20-20 triple double in his first real on-court minutes.
