This smaller tournament will take place before the bigger Vegas Summer League.

Some interesting news popped up over the weekend as Basketball Insiders’ Ben Dowsett reported that Sacramento would play host to a week of summer league action before the Vegas Summer League.

Per Dowsett, this tournament is set to include the Kings, Warriors, Lakers and Heat and will be similar in scope to the Orlando and Utah Summer Leagues of the past. For the Kings this will be an extra opportunity to get national eyes on the city and to play their youth, particularly Harry Giles, who is making his debut for Summer League.

Exact details of when this tournament will take place and how to get tickets are still unknown as there has been no official announcement, but multiple reporters have confirmed the initial report. Ira Winderman, beat writer for the Miami Heat, tweeted that the Sacramento league will take place over the July 4th holiday. Vegas Summer League begins July 6th and goes until July 17th.
