Kings sign Free Agents David Wear and Trey Johnson to Training Camp Contracts

Training camp is starting later this month and the Kings continue to beef up the roster in preparation.

The Sacramento Kings have made a couple more signings in preparation for training camp, which starts September 27th.

First, Jason Jones reports that the Kings are signing undrafted forward David Wear out of UCLA

Then Chris Hayes reported today that the Kings have signed free agent Trey Johnson to a one-year deal, although that deal is likely unguaranteed past training camp as well. Johnson actually has a few years of NBA experience, having played some spot minutes for the Cavaliers, Raptors, Lakers and Hornets, although he hasn't played in the NBA since the 2011-12 season. Unlike the other prospects the Kings have signed to training camp deals, Johnson is quite a bit older at 30 years old. Johnson's current team is Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel and before that he played in the D-League with the Bakersfield Jam and also in Italy and Venezuela.

In other news, Jason Jones also reports that Jeremy Tyler is still expected to be waived. The Kings have until Sept. 15th to do so and it probably won't happen until then. Also, for those wondering what's taking so long for the Kings to sign Omri Casspi, Jones reports that it's simply a matter of geographical location, and Casspi will sign his contract once he gets back to the states.
