Kings have extra cap space thanks to CBA quirk

The Kings have some extra flexibility going into the draft
By | 0 Comments | Apr 24, 2018

As a result of a strange CBA detail the Sacramento Kings find themselves with extra cap space for the next few months. Bobby Marks of ESPN reported the details via twitter.

Essentially what this means is that the Kings have a smaller cap hit than originally expected from waiving Anthony Tolliver and Arron Afflalo, and have $2 million in extra cap space through June 30th.

The Kings could use the space to take on contracts in predraft or draft day deals. If they don’t use the space it goes away as of July 1st.
