Moreland, who has been back and forth between the Kings and their D-League affiliate the Reno Bighorns this season, is scheduled to have surgery on Saturday.

Moreland was a bright spot during the Kings Summer League title run in Las Vegas where he averaged 3.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in six games. Following this performance, the Kings signed Moreland to a reported three-year contract. The Kings had been developing Moreland on the Bighorns. The 6-10, 218-pound forward from Oregon State was averaging nearly 14 points, 13 rebound and 1.5 assists per game in Reno. Moreland never really got a chance to log playing time this season with the Kings, only playing in the waning minutes of three games that had been decided.

The news was initially reported by Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.
