After much debate in recent months about whether the Kings would lock-in their talented center long-term, DeMarcus Cousins has been offered an extension, according to multiple reports.

Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee, was the first to report that a deal had been agreed upon.

The four-year, $62 million extension would officially begin in the 2014-15 season. The contract solidifies the 23-year-old as the centerpiece of the franchise moving forward, a direction the new ownership group had been hinting at all summer.

According to Sean Cunningham of News 10, a press conference will be held Monday to officially announce the deal. Monday also is Media Day.

The Kings will then kick off training camp Tuesday at the University of California, Santa Barbara campus, where they will remain until Oct. 6 before heading to Oakland for their first preseason game against the Warriors on Oct. 7.
