You can practically copy and paste some stuff I wrote before about this one. The Sacramento Kings allow one epically bad quarter end the game, again. The Kings had trouble stopping the Chicago Bulls defensively all game long, and unfortunately in the third quarter they suffered a scoring drought and got blown out, the final score being 104-86.

Offensively, for most of the game, the Kings moved the ball pretty well. The Kings shot 46.7% from the field, dishing out 23 assists while committing only 13 turnovers. Rudy Gay led the charge with 24 points on 18 shots, with seven rebounds and five assists. DeMarcus Cousins didn't shoot the ball well (only 5/15 from the field), but he passed the ball marvelously, threatening a triple double with 15 points, eight assists and eight rebounds with only two turnovers. But the third quarter was brutal, when the Kings faced a stretch where they only shot 6/16 from the field. The quarter started on a 17-4 Bulls run, and the Kings ended up losing the quarter 27-15.

But the defense was really bad throughout the game. Pau Gasol turned back the clock, abusing Jason Thompson much like he used to when he was a Laker playing the Kings four times a year to the tune of 26 points and 16 rebounds on only 15 shots. Derrick Rose must have been salivating knowing he was lining up against Ramon Sessions, who didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of guarding him. Rose dropped 23 points and dished 7 assists on 17 shots. And for some reason, the Kings treated Tony Snell as if he was wearing a cloaking device. Snell got open again and again and again, scoring 24 points on an absurd 11 shots.

With Tyrone Corbin on his way out, George Karl has a lot of work to do with the team. The Kings have all kinds of issues; long offensive droughts, a high propensity to turn the ball over, awful focus defensively, and a severe void in production from the bench just being some of the biggest issues. Corbin's last game will be tomorrow against the Bucks, but real changes aren't likely to come until the All-Star break.
