Kings Announce Participants for Third Pre-Draft Workout

By | 0 Comments | Mar 6, 2019

The Sacramento Kings announced their third pre-draft workout earlier this afternoon, and yet again, it appears as though the participants coming in on May 31st are second round picks at best (and in contention for the 59th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft that the Kings own via the San Antonio Spurs), and summer league and/or Reno fodder at worst.

There you have it.

For those potentially frustrated with the lack of high-end talent the Kings are working out, don't be. It's incredibly early in the process, and most of the workouts conducted by most teams right now are of this level.

I suppose it's worth noting that two of the six prospects the Kings are bringing in on May 31st are on Chad Ford's top-100, and I apologize for referencing Chad Ford in every one of these draft workout announcement posts, but I need to use some barometer for this stuff, and since I used Ford for the first workout, it makes sense to keep using that standard.

Anyhow, Ford has Stanford's Rosco Allen 96th on his top-100, and Southern California's Nikola Jovanovic 100th on his top-100. Jovanovic is from Belgrade, Serbia, so his name is already etched on the Kings' summer league roster. That last sentence was a joke, but, yeah.
