Kings announce 2016-17 Coaching Staff

Dave Joerger's coaching staff for the 2016-17 season brings back some familiar faces

Well that didn't take too long. New Kings head coach Dave Joerger has formally put together his coaching staff for the upcoming season. Corliss Williamson and Nancy Lieberman are the only members of last year's regime to return, and joining them are Elston Turner, Duane Ticknor, Bryan Gates, and Jason March.

Turner, of course, spent 6 years as a Sacramento Kings assistant under Rick Adelman from 2000 to 2006. He was Joerger's lead assistant in Memphis and will retain that role in Sacramento. He has the unique perspective of having actually coached Kings GM Vlade Divac. It's nice to have E.T. back, as he's more than qualified to be a head coach in his own right, even though he has yet to get the opportunity.

Duane Ticknor also comes to Sacramento from Memphis, where he spent the last three years under Joerger. He's got a rather eclectic resumé, much like Joerger himself, having coached all around the world and in multiple levels.

Bryan Gates comes to us from Minnesota, but also was a Sacramento assistant coach in the 2009-10 season under Paul Westphal. Before that he spent three years in the D-League with the Idaho Stampede.

Jason March spent the last nine seasons in Memphis, fulfilling various roles from video coordinator to assistant coach. He's worked his way from the ground up and also spent some time in the WNBA with the Phoenix Mercury.
