It wasn’t a pretty game, but the Sacramento Kings finally opened the floodgates in the late fourth quarter to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-104. Sadly, the score doesn’t truly tell you how close the Kings let the Cavs stay throughout the game. It’s frustrating watching the Kings play down to their competition, but at least they closed it out and got the victory.
De’Aaron Fox led the Kings with 16 points, 10 assists, and three rebounds, while Buddy Hield had a team high 23 points. Bogdan Bogdanovic finished with 18 points, five assists and four rebounds. His scoring included some big threes at the end of the third and start of the fourth quarter than really swung momentum for the Kings. Marvin Bagley III has a quiet first half but finished with 15 points and eight rebounds in just 20 minutes of action.
Regardless of the aesthetics, the Kings now have 39 wins and 40 losses for the year. They play again tomorrow night against the Utah Jazz. That’s right, another back to back, traveling to higher altitude. I’m sure it will be great.
