George Hill traded to Cleveland as part of three-team deal

The Kings get Joe Johnson, Iman Shumpert, a 2020 second round pick and cash in return.

Well it turns out the George Hill to Cleveland rumors weren’t hot air after all.

While it seemed like the deal might have been off the table after Cleveland traded Isaiah Thomas and Channing Frye to the Lakers for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance, the Cavaliers brought in the Utah Jazz and the Kings to make an even bigger deal.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs sent Jae Crowder and Derrick Rose to Utah and Iman Shumpert to the Kings, while Utah sent Rodney Hood to Cleveland and Joe Johnson to Sacramento. The Kings then sent George Hill to Cleveland. Sacramento also received Miami’s 2020 2nd round pick from Cleveland along with our old friend cash considerations.

This can’t be the final deal however as the Kings can’t take back more players than they send out. Someone will either have to be cut or traded in another deal. The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor suggested earlier that Georgios Papagiannis was the most obvious piece to be moved.

Stay tuned, because this isn’t over yet.
