Final Score: Kings 96, Hawks 112

The Kings got off to bad starts in both halves and couldn't cool down the red hot shooting of Kyle Korver as they dropped their fourth straight game.

The Sacramento Kings dropped to 2-7 on the year with their 4th straight loss. The team got out to very bad starts in both the first and second half thanks to some haphazard play from the starting lineup and lackluster defense all around. Three Hawks scored at least 20 points, led by Kyle Korver's 22. Korver shot the lights out, hitting 7 of 9 shots and all five of his three point attempts.

The Kings got down by as much as 18 points after a terrible first quarter start. The bench unit came in the second quarter and bring the Kings all the way back thanks to some hot shooting. Aaron Brooks and Marcus Thornton in particular lit it up in the quarter as the Kings shot 71% from the field for the quarter. At the half, the Kings were down by just two and had 17 assists.

However none of that momentum carried over as the starting lineup played even worse the second time around. While Tyreke Evans and Jason Thompson had good shooting nights, the other starters were just 6 of 28. Though the bench did better, the Hawks matched them point for point and prevented any comeback attempt.

DeMarcus Cousins had a mixed night in his first game back from suspension. He scored just 9 points on a terrible 4-15 from the field, but he did have a season-high 16 rebounds and 7 assists. Jason Thompson very quietly had a great game, scoring a team-high 19 points on 10 shots with 10 rebounds. However, you are not going to win many games with Jason Thompson being your leading scorer.

The games ahead just get even tougher, as the 5-2 Brooklyn Nets visit Sleep Train Arena on Sunday followed by the Lakers on Wednesday. Things could get out of hand quickly if the Kings don't regain their composure and find something that works consistently on the court.
