De’Aaron Fox to play in Rising Stars Challenge

Fox replaces the injured Lonzo Ball in the All-Star event.

It’s a Valentine’s Day miracle!

After an initial snub (although to be fair, this year’s class is loaded), the NBA has chosen De’Aaron Fox to replace the injured Lonzo Ball (how fitting) in the Rising Stars Challenge. Fox will play for Team USA and will go up against teammates Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic who will play for Team World.

This will be the first time the Kings have ever had three players in the competition, with the previous best being two with Tyreke Evans and Omri Casspi in 2010.

Since coming back from injury at the start of 2018, Fox has been playing really well, averaging 14.1 points on 42.3% from the field with 5.2 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals. He has also had some spectacular highlights already this season, including two game-winners.

While All-Star Saturday and Sunday typically have the biggest fanfare, for Kings fans, Friday will be the main event. Congrats De’Aaron!
