Cousins and Gay expected to miss the rest of the season

From Jason Jones:

It's been a career-year for DeMarcus Cousins but it has been marred by both injury and fluke illnesses. His bout of viral meningitis in late November changed the course of the entire season, including probably attributing to the dismissal of Coach Michael Malone given Sacramento's struggles without Cousins in that time. Cousins was able to come back from that illness and successfully earned his first All-Star berth, and will likely earn an All-NBA nod as well.

Rudy Gay also had a career-year, averaging a career-high 21.1 points a game and 3.7 assists a game. Gay has been dealing with the after-effects of a concussion suffered last week.

Darren Collison never got to play for George Karl this season, suffering a hip injury shortly before the All-Star break that knocked him out for the rest of the season. With Collison leading the way as Sacramento's starting PG, the Kings starting lineup was one of the best defensive units in the NBA.

Until October fellas. The Kings will play the Denver Nuggets tomorrow before playing the Lakers twice next week to end the season.
