We're still 784 days away from the opening of the new downtown Sacramento arena, but the demolition of Downtown Plaza is already a little over a week in and walls are being dug into.
On Friday, an excavator was prepping for the demolition of the old Macy's building at 6th and L Streets. According to a Kings spokesperson, this was done to make room for equipment that will be moved into the building. We caught some of this on video.
And here it is after the work had been done.
Complete tear down of this particular building is expected to begin in the coming days/weeks.
