Sacramento legend Kevin Johnson has angered some Oak Park leaders because his organization has been slow to redevelop numerous parcels it's purchased. They say he's holding up progress in the neighborhood.

My contention: How many other folks with his resources have been so active in trying to rebuild the community? I'm not saying you don't hold him accountable; far from it. I just think we should put things in perspective before we rush to the press about it. Honestly, is getting The Bee involved the best way to move forward? Folks don't like seeing their name drug through the mud.
