The Rocky Mountain News is reporting that Nuggets assistant Scott Brooks might be coming to Sacramento to join Eric Musselman's staff.
Brooks is a Manteca native, and he graduated from East Union High. He was in the league for 10 seasons, none as a starter. (He started only 7 out of his 680 games. Yikes.) I actually have no recollection of Scott Brooks's playing days, but it seems as if he was something of a combo guard who could make an assist and shoot the three pretty well.
An NBA.com bio says he's been a top assistant in Denver for three seasons after being hired by Jeff Bzdelik in 2003. (It's a good sign that George Karl kept him on board.) He also played a season at Delta College, for you Stockton heads. (He was born in French Camp, for those of you further down the Valley.)
And finally, Dave D'Alessandro at Sporting News last year said that Brooks "will be a terrific head coach someday." That can't be a bad thing.
